Question 7 Looking back at your prelimiary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product ?

From this task i have learnt a lot about new software the i have never used before. The preliminary task i learn't the basics in indesign and blogger for example the basics like how to do a box and put words in the box and change its colour and for blogger i learnt how to post things and work my way around the website. But while doing the main task my skills have grown and i can now do alot more in indesign and make it look professional.

I have also learnt alot more about codes and conention and how magazines attract the target audiences into buying the magazine. I think my knowledge on thi has developed as i have made my own pop magazine which has expaned my knowledge as i have has to do it myself with little help.

I have also learnt ho to set out a magazine to make it look professional. My preliminary task wasn't aet out as well as i wanted it to be but i changed that for the main task and made it better.

Question 5 how did you attract/address your audience ?

To attract my audience and get them to buy my magazine, i used conventions on my front cover. Firstly i made my Masthead so it would engage the audience and draw them in because of the colours and the style as it looks very appealing and attractive. Also i wanted my images to draw there audiences eye in as there is a lot of mode of address as if the person on the front cover is inviting my audience into the magazine in buying it. The image i have used on my front cover is a new artist the audience would also want to know who it is and would draw them into buying it to find out who she is. I have designed my front cover like this so its eye catching and draws people into buying the magazine to find stuff out so i have used my magazine to grasp the audiences natural inquizitiveness.

Question 1 
In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The masthead style and The Name
I wanted the style of my masthead to be very simple, bright , bold and eye catching like the magazines i have research such as 'NME' and 'WE LOVE POP' all of the mastheads are bold and eye catching.

This is my masthead i have used, its different to the others i have researched as it is different colours and it isn't plain and simple which makes my mashead unique where as the magazines i have researched are all the same colours and they use block text were as my has patterns in the middle which i think adds to the masthead as it makes it really eye catching and fun.

I have edited the masthead by changing the colour of each letter so it fits with my colour scheme of Pink, Blue, Turquoise and white and my masthead uses three of these colours so it helps the continuity. I have changed the size of the O and the N so it has more to look at. I think that my masthead is more appealing to Girls than Boys because of the colours i have used.

Colour Scheme

I chose this colour scheme as its very bright and happy and i think they connote a girl gender which i wanted for my magazine.


Misescene
I don't think i have challenegd the Misescene of the images as all the stars i have in my magazine wear the latest fashion and accessories. All of my images are inspired by 'WE LOVE POP' magazine which uses plain backgrounds in the images.

Costume and Props
The costumes and props i have uses in my magazine are convention. The constumes i have used are just dresses, make up and accesories. I have only used one prop and that was a guitar and that is it.

People
The people in my magazine reflect my target audience, both of the people i have chosen are females so that reflects my chosen gender of target audience.

Written Content
I think the written content in my magazine follows the codes and conventions of every day music magazines. I have taken inspiration from other magazines like 'We love pop' i have used there interview style in my written work so it links to there work, the questions i have used are similar to the ones in magazines such as NME and we love pop.

Layout
The layout of my magazine challenegs other magazines as my magazine is quite busy with lots of text and photos. And for example i have not got any advirtisments for other bands or singers and i don't have any advirtisment to show off any perticular product.

Contents Page
I think my contents page follows the codes and conventions of other magazines as my contents page contains features in the magazine and there page numbers. I think my contents page is fun and upbeat as the genre and the contents page is quite busy with a overflow of text and photos.
